Where the Decoupling Movement Starts
In 2022, CL2B hosted one of Vietnam’s first online seminars dedicated to showcasing circular economy practices. What began as a pioneering event to unite thinkers has since evolved into an annual tradition. Each year, we gather leaders from Vietnam, ASEAN, and other emerging economies to strengthen the circular economy movement. Together, we discuss what’s possible, what’s needed, and how to accelerate decoupling impacts while driving sustainable change across regions

The Circular Momentum Podcast series emerged from VCEA 2024 as a platform to share efforts, challenges, and best practices for driving the circular transition in Vietnam. Through real-world examples and sector-specific cases, it highlights the journeys, obstacles, and motivations of businesses integrating circular economy principles into their operations
where Knowledge Meets Actions for Impacts
VCEA 2022
The first edition of VCEA in 2022 was hosted online, attracting over 280 participants. Over four hours, 10 speakers from development agencies, technology innovator, social enterprises shared their practices and motivation for advancing circular economy. This event marked the beginning of growing movement for circular economy in Vietnam

Spanning multiple sectors, the seminar attracted manufacturers and businesses engaged in solid waste management. Participants emphasized the critical need for greater collaboration and knowledges exchange. They also expected to have more time allocated to Q&A and detailed successful and lessons learned to advance the circular economy effectively

Youth and Education: Preparing the Workforce for the Circular Economy. Delivered by DOC, this session addressed a critical pillar for successful circular economy transition: Skills and workforce development.
The discussion featured insights from businesses and emphasized the pivotal role of education in equipping future generations with the tools to drive circular innovation. It also highlighted the importance of engaging youth at early stage, fostering a mindset aligned with sustainability.

Breakout session: Plastic circular Economy: From Model to Solution bright together diverse perspectives from private to public stakeholder to explore actionable pathways for a plastic circular economy. A key focus was EPR in Vietnam with discussions centered on its role in preparing for a future with no plastic.
This session is brought by Greenhub Vietnam.

The co-creation workshop led by Go Circular- GIZ, focused on enhancing the circular economy startup econsystem. The breakout session shared insights from recent studies on innovation in Vietnam and invited participants to brainstorm solutions and ideas for advancing circular practices.

featuring insights from ICED and GIZ- Go circular in boosting circular transition in Vietnam. The session included a thought- provoking discussion among top thinkers, exploring Vietnam and ASEAN's position amidst the global climate crisis and economic complexity. It delved into how the circular economy can enhance domestic economic resilience and addressing the gap of inequality.

The profit of VCEA 2024 spent to honor waste material with artist Nguyen Quoc Dan.
The art exhibition hosted for 20 days, at De La Sol - Sunlife flagship attracted over 6500 public visitors. The exhibition aimed to raise awareness of waste challenges as well, material and end of life's responsibility.
