The Brief
Even within Vietnam, the recyclable plastic waste market varies significantly between the South, North, and Central regions. Commissioned by IFC, CL2B conducted a comprehensive study to improve the quality and efficiency of plastic recycling. This involved analyzing supply chain characteristics, potential volumes, regional links, and overlaps, particularly focusing on the complex informal sector and included a Material Flow Analysis (MFA) of PET in Vietnam for 2022-2023 including imported plastic and recycled plastic end user estimation. The study also tackled social challenges like migration and social welfare.
