The Brief

The textile sector is one of Vietnam's largest industries, with exports exceeding $42 billion in 2023 and over 7,000 enterprises. However, it faces significant waste challenges, particularly with fabric scraps from cutting tables, where losses average 7% to 15%, and can exceed 30% for certain products. By mapping over 70 textile manufacturers and 9 fashion brands, CL2B has established an overview of textile scraps, laying the groundwork for our circular fashion initiatives. This aligns with the FABRIC project, implemented by GIZ, GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
